Priorities for District C
A focused, Alaska-first vision built on the foundations of economic stability, stewardship, and the safety of our families.
Fisheries
Our fisheries—commercial, sport, and subsistence—are the backbone of District C’s economy and way of life. I will support science‑based management that keeps access and value in Alaskan hands, protects fishing opportunities for families, jobs, and sustains healthy runs and strong working waterfronts for the next generation.
Cheaper, reliable energy
High energy costs drive up the price of everything in Alaska and squeeze family budgets. I support practical energy development—including hydro, gas, and transmission upgrades—that lowers costs for homes, businesses, and communities across our state. BUILD THE LINE!
Fiscal stability and the PFD
Alaskans deserve a long-term fiscal plan that ends the yearly chaos over budgets, schools, and the PFD. I support a clear framework that funds government, protects the Permanent Fund, preserves a reliable dividend, and gives families and businesses the confidence to plan for the future.
Strong schools and workforce
Our schools need stability, not another year of uncertainty from Juneau. I support predictable education funding, strong local schools, empowered parents, and career and technical pathways that help young Alaskans build their future here at home instead of leaving the state.
Coastal communities
For coastal Alaska, ferries are essential infrastructure, not a luxury. I will work for a dependable fleet and consistent service, with a forward‑looking replacement schedule that avoids long gaps when ships age out. I support putting the Alaska Marine Highway on a stable schedule that keeps people and goods moving, connects our communities year‑round, and treats ferries with the same seriousness as our roads and airports.
Economic Growth
A stronger Alaska begins with a thriving local economy that supports entrepreneurs, workers, and families. I will support policies that encourage small business growth, reduce unnecessary regulatory burdens, attract responsible investment, and strengthen key regional industries. By creating a business-friendly environment that rewards innovation and supports job creation, District C can expand economic opportunities, strengthen community prosperity, and build a more secure future for generations to come.
